Behind the Story - Project MARCH
“Our whole frame is made out of metal, so you really need to integrate it into your electrical system. I use Altium Designer’s 3D viewer the most since we are working very closely with mechanical engineers to make everything fit inside the exoskeleton.”
Project MARCH is a student team from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands that is designing and building an exoskeleton- a motorized robotic suit that can be used to help people with spinal cord injuries to stand up and walk again.
Designing an exoskeleton to walk a few steps is no easy feat. You have to apply, test and practice your knowledge continually to get results. See how the Project March team shares the considerations of designing the motor controller that drives the ankle joints, the mechanical part of an electrical system, in the robot.
